About Heather, Founder & Senior Living Advisor, Arizona Songbird

I love my job, assisting families & friends in finding senior living, that gives peace of mind to loved ones.

My own parents are 84 years young, so I can relate to people when they have concerns about mom, dad or a spouse.

Years ago, I worked as a Realtor, finding homes for people, which included many senior clients.

This experience is useful when it comes to negotiating terms for the families I represent.

I’ve also worked in senior living communities, and I currently manage two group homes.

The most important factor in my job is to ensure my clients’ care needs are met. I know the questions to ask, to make sure the senior living environment is a fit to each individual’s unique care needs.

I hold my Manager’s License, at the AZ Board of Nursing Care Institution Administrators & AL Managers, which holds me to the highest degree of competency and standards.

Achieving this certification required many hours of coursework, 2,080 documented hours of work in a health field, exams, and continuing education courses.

Group homes are required to have a Manager licensed by the NCIA Board, and I’m proud to hang my license at a reputable group home in Scottsdale and one in Mesa. On a monthly basis, I review records with the Operations Manager, to ensure compliance with the Department of Health Services.

On a personal note, I’m proud to be a Hawkeye (from Iowa ) and am very close with my parents (both 84 years young) and my
two grown daughters.

“The spirit never ages. It stays forever young.”
